Jim Grundy
James (Jim) A. Grundy Jr. is the current President and Owner of Grundy Worldwide, the leader in Collector Car Insurance. Born on November 24th 1953, Grundy grew up in a stringent Quaker home in the suburbs of Philadelphia with one sister and attended the William Penn Charter School as a boy. His father, James A Grundy Sr. started a small insurance agency in 1947 after the war with the money he earned from the government under the G.I. Bill. After attending Harvard College, Jim took on a career as a competitive sailor and won five North American Championships. Soon after, Jim joined the family Insurance business in 1980.
In addition to his passion as a skilled and accomplished competitive sailor, Jim's other love is of antique cars, which is no surprise. Jim's grandfather Samuel E. Bailey is documented to have been the first individual to restore a car and his father James A Grundy Sr. issued the first collector vehicle policy.
Jim's visions and commitment to the industry and hobby led him to assuming leadership of Grundy Worldwide in 1996. Since then, the company has grown immensely, developing into the leader of collector car insurance and still to this day, is recognized as the fastest growing insurer of collector cars.
It's no surprise that Jim is known nationally in the collector car hobby as a car guy that serves car guys. Jim has been a long time contributor and participant to most major collector car events and has also won awards showing his cars in every major Concours including, Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Greenwich, Meadowbrook and Concours on Rodeo.
Under Jims' leadership, Grundy Worldwide's mission has been to provide optimum protection to Car Collectors everyday, and to make it easier, more cost-effective and more enjoyable for people to insure some of their most prized possessions.
