Jim Grundy in Upcoming Episodes of My Classic Car.

My Classic Car invites Grundy Worldwide's president, Jim Grundy, to their show each year to educate viewers on the importance of Grundy's Agreed Value collector car insurance policies.

The show's host, Dennis Gage, sits with Mr. Grundy and tapes an Eastwood Garage segment, in which the two hobbyists chat about Grundy's one-of-a-kind insurance.

Segments will air on the SPEED Channel Sunday, Nov. 9 at 9:30am, Monday, Nov. 10 at 3:00am and Tuesday Nov.11 at 3:00pm.

Grundy Worldwide has been in business for over 60 years and specializes in insurance for street rods, and antique and classic cars. And, as everyone knows, the classic car hobby is booming and has literally doubled in the last few years. Consequently, this means that the need for collector car insurance has also increased. And, collector car insurance from Grundy Worldwide is more affordable than most might think.

When Dennis and Jim sat together to tape this My Classic Car Eastwood Garage segment, the two talked about the affordability of a Grundy policy. Just to get an idea of how reasonable Grundy's rates are, Jim explains that a car with approximately $40,000 in restoration costs could easily be insured for as low as around $250 per year! The two then bring their attention to a beautiful Corvette that sits in the garage with them, and Dennis places a $20,000 value on the vehicle. Jim responds that the premium could be as low as $165 each year.

Jim says the cost in almost nothing, in comparison to what other insurance companies might charge an owner of a collector vehicle. And, he adds that not only are the rates incredibly low, but Grundy allows hobbyists to drive their specialty car as often as they like (except for driving to work each day, as owning a "daily driver" is a necessity to insure your collector car with Grundy Worldwide).

Dennis and Jim continue their conversation, and we learn that Grundy's rates are significantly less than those of other companies, because of Agreed Value insurance policies, in which the car owner and Grundy's underwriters agree on the value of the collector car. If an accident or theft occurs, the customer receives the "agreed upon" value-no questions asked!

As Jim Grundy has said in past interviews with Dennis, "Just send pictures of your car. If we agree on the value, and if you lose your car, then that Agreed Value is the amount you receive." There is no depreciation, and as previously mentioned, there are no questions asked. And, as always, when insuring with Grundy Worldwide, there are not any mileage restrictions on your street rod, classic or antique cars. Owners can drive their cars as far as they want and as often as they like.

Other special features on Grundy policies include Inflation Guard and coverage on spare parts, trip interruption, auto show medical reimbursement and towing and labor costs. In this segment, Jim adds that since launching these features in the summer of 2006, "claims have been wonderfully processed." He adds that over 1000 Grundy policyholders have called in claims for Trip Interruption, and customers have been nothing but pleased.

In addition to catching up on the added features on Grundy policies, such as Trip Interruption and Inflation Guard (a 4% yearly increase to the value of a collector car that helps protect the hobbyist), Jim adds that the company has made buying the policies even easier, by accepting credit card payments over the phone.

Dennis also mentions claims ratings, and Jim explains that Grundy Worldwide maintains the highest claims settlement ratings of all companies. He goes on to say that when an owner of a collector car is protected by a good insurance company, with good claims settlement, the hobbyist is provided with peace of mind and can truly enjoy the vehicle and "have fun with his buddies."

Also, stayed tuned for ALL NEW Grundy segments that will begin airing in early 2009. During these interviews, Jim Grundy will answer some of Dennis’ challenging “what if” and “how come” questions about Grundy’s unique collector vehicle insurance policies.
